Graphic Design brings out the designer in its students, and adds real-world, hands-on skills from concept to completion and provides the skills to take creative ideas and make them reality. The program provides instruction in the hardware and software used for graphic imaging, basic color science and advertising. Students learn page layout and typography using Adobe’s Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge and Acrobat), Extensis Suitcase and Quark Xpress. Web and packaging design are also addressed. Arts and Sciences curriculum support both the students’ technical direction and enhance their oral and written communication skills, computer literacy, fundamental math skills and critical thinking ability.
